through alleys cold, her path acute.
The moon her friend, the light so far,
her heart a dim and dying star.

The sun she knows from dreams alone,
her life in twilight’s muted tone.
No laughter rides the winds her way,
just whispers born of shadow’s sway.

Yet in her chest a fire glows,
not born of joy, but pain she knows.

and silent flames will rise, perchance.
