Santa Muerta

In pale light cast by candle’s flame,
Santa Muerte softly came,
to meet the souls at twilight’s door,
and guide them where they are no more.

Her cloak is woven, dark and deep,
of dust and blood, of leaves that sleep,
no heart can flee, no breath can hide,
when death’s own hand sweeps close beside.

She counts the hours without disdain,
knows every ending, joy, and pain,
and those who serve her, calm, devout,
see death as love, not fear, nor doubt.

So kneel to her, yet know no fright,
for she shall lead you through the night.
No pain remains, no false accord —
only stillness, and the final word.
